# FirstTake TikTok hook generator

> FirstTake writes the hook for every video it makes, then tests it for real: every post tries new openers and captions, and FirstTake reads which ones keep people watching. The winners shape the next videos. On Accelerator you can also test three hooks on three accounts and see which brings in the most installs or sign-ups.

*On screen:* Four example hook tests. A specific, surprising opener (“You’ve been storing bread wrong”) beats a plain description (“Our 3-day sourdough process”) each time.

## FirstTake TikTok hook generator: questions

### What is a TikTok hook?

The first second or two of a video, on screen or said out loud, that makes someone stop scrolling.

### What makes a good TikTok hook?

A specific promise or surprise in the first line, like “You’ve been storing bread wrong” rather than “Our 3-day sourdough process”. FirstTake tests both kinds and keeps what holds viewers.

### How does FirstTake test hooks?

Every video tries a new opener and caption. FirstTake compares how long people watch and what they click, then reuses the winners.

### How much does FirstTake’s TikTok hook generator cost?

It’s included in every FirstTake plan, from $49 a month billed yearly ($59 month to month) for 15 finished videos made and posted. That’s $3.28–$3.47 a video on yearly billing.
